Test Methodology

Evidence status: The measurements summarized here are reported by Nano Grow Light from internal testing. Independent university and third-party laboratory validation is pending. The current setup and its known documentation gaps are stated below.

Purpose and test article

This page describes the manufacturer-reported test setup associated with the Nano Liquid Photonic Coating™ reflector results. The specification sheet identifies a Philips MasterColor 250W / 830 ceramic metal halide (CMH) lamp, a coated reflector, and a bare aluminum reflector as the comparison condition.

Measurement categories

  • PPFD: The specification sheet reports center readings and a 2 × 2 ft area average at each listed fixture height.
  • Spectral measurements: Band-level values are presented for blue, green, red, far-red, and UV, with changes described as manufacturer-reported.
  • Reflectance: PAR, visible, blue-band, and red-band values are reported for the coated reflector; a bare aluminum baseline is also shown.
  • Thermal observations: The page reports a steady-state fixture surface temperature and a 72-hour burn-in observation.

Documentation gaps in the published internal protocol

The current public report does not provide calibration dates or certificates, instrument serial numbers, the number of fixtures tested, the number of independent runs, a complete PPFD sampling grid, measurement geometry for reflectance, raw instrument exports, an uncertainty budget, error margins, or statistical confidence intervals. These details are not inferred here. The published measurements should therefore be treated as manufacturer-reported summaries rather than a fully reproducible independent study.

Planned independent protocol

Before third-party measurements begin, the protocol is expected to specify the sample and control materials, lamp and operating settings, instrument calibration status, warm-up period, measurement geometry, environmental controls, number of fixtures and repeat runs, PPFD map locations, exclusion rules, and analysis plan. Reports should preserve individual readings and include means, spread, uncertainty, deviations, and raw tables. Any university or laboratory work remains proposed until a partner and schedule are confirmed.

Limitations

Results currently relate to the Philips MasterColor 250W / 830 CMH test configuration and the stated internal conditions. Results may vary with alternative lamps, reflector geometries, plant canopies, grow environments, and measurement methods. No independent validation result is claimed on this page.
